Payments and Payouts for Providers
How you get paid — Stripe setup, payout methods, and earnings.
Payments and Payouts for Providers
Setting Up Stripe
To receive payouts, connect a Stripe account:
- Go to Settings > Payments.
- Click Set Up Stripe Account.
- Complete Stripe's onboarding (identity verification, bank account, business details).
- You'll see "Stripe Account Connected" when done.
Connecting Stripe is required to accept paid bookings.
How Payouts Work
When a client pays for a session, the full amount goes to Monkey Mind's Stripe account first. After the session ends, Monkey Mind automatically transfers your payout (80% of the session price) to your connected Stripe account.
- Client pays — full amount lands in Monkey Mind's Stripe balance.
- Session happens.
- Once per hour after the session end time, Monkey Mind transfers your 80% payout to your Stripe account.
- You withdraw to your bank from your Stripe dashboard whenever you like (default: daily auto-payouts on Stripe's side).
This means there may be a short delay (up to ~1 hour after the session ends) before your share shows up in your Stripe balance. This is intentional — it protects both you and the client if a cancellation or dispute happens close to the session time.
Fees
- Monkey Mind platform fee: 20%
- Your payout: 80%
Example on a $100 session:
- Client pays $100
- Platform keeps $20
- You receive $80
Viewing Your Earnings
Your Provider Dashboard shows:
- Total earnings this month and all-time
- Earnings chart by month (last 6 months)
- Recent payouts with status (pending, processing, completed)
Refund Impact
If a client cancels and qualifies for a refund, Stripe reverses the corresponding amount from your payout. If the payout has already been released to your balance, Stripe claws it back (or leaves your balance negative until your next payout offsets it).
No Stripe = No Bookings
Providers without a connected Stripe account cannot be booked. We do not pay out manually via Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or other methods — Stripe Connect is the only payout route.
