Automatic monthly top-ups

Teams on a prepaid balance can have a set amount charged to their saved card on a chosen day each month, so the balance never runs dry.

What it does

If your team pays from a prepaid balance, you can have a fixed amount charged to your saved card automatically on a day you choose each month. The money lands in your balance the same way a manual top-up does, and it shows on your transaction history as "Monthly auto top-up".

Setting it up

  1. Go to Billing (from your team's menu).
  2. If you have not already, add a card in the Card on file panel. The charge needs something to charge.
  3. In Billing settings, turn on Auto top-up each month, enter the amount, and pick the day of the month (1st to 28th, so every month has it).
  4. Save billing settings.

The charge happens once a month on that day, in your team's timezone. If a scheduled day is ever missed on our side, it is charged on the next day instead — never twice in one month.

If the card is declined

The balance is not credited, and your team's admins get a notification saying so. We do not keep retrying a declined card; update the card in the Card on file panel and the next charge is next month. Our team is alerted as well.

Things to know

  • Auto top-up only applies to the prepaid balance. Teams paying by card on file do not need it — each session is charged to the card as it happens.
  • You can change the amount or the day, or turn it off, at any time from the same panel.
  • Budgets and per-person limits work exactly as before; this only changes how the balance is refilled.
