Step-by-step guide to booking a session with a provider.

How to Book a Session

Step 1: Choose a Provider

Browse the Providers directory or visit a provider's profile directly.

Step 2: Select a Session Type

Each provider offers one or more session types (e.g., "Initial Consultation — 50 min", "Follow-Up Session — 30 min"). Select the one that fits your needs.

Step 3: Pick a Date and Time

The calendar shows the provider's available time slots. All times are displayed in your timezone (set in your profile settings).

  • Green slots are available
  • You can navigate between weeks to find a time that works
  • Some providers require a minimum booking notice (e.g., 24 hours in advance)

Step 4: Confirm and Pay

Review your booking details (provider, session type, date, time, duration, price) and complete payment:

  • Card Payment — Pay securely via Stripe. Your card is charged immediately.
  • Organization Budget — If your organization has set up a budget for you, select "Use Organization Budget" (see Booking with Your Organization's Budget)
  • Package Credits — If you've purchased a session package, available credits will be shown automatically
  • Free Sessions — Some providers offer free consultations with no payment required

Step 5: Confirmation

After payment succeeds, you'll receive:

  • A confirmation page with session details
  • A confirmation email with a calendar invite (.ics file) attached
  • A video meeting link (Google Meet) if the provider has it set up
  • An in-app notification

Your booking will appear in your Bookings page under "Upcoming".
