When do I get paid?

The three payout timings — a single session, a one-time package, and a recurring subscription — and which one applies to you.

When do I get paid?

When you get paid depends on what the client bought, not on when you delivered the session. This catches people out, so it's worth reading all three.

1. A single session

  1. The client pays — the full amount lands in Monkey Mind's Stripe balance.
  2. The session happens.
  3. Once a day, we transfer your 80% to your Stripe account.

Sessions that have ended are picked up on the next daily run, so your share normally arrives within about a day of the session finishing — not instantly. The short hold protects both you and the client if a cancellation or dispute happens close to the session time.

2. A one-time package (for example, 4 sessions for $400)

You are paid the moment the client buys the package — before you deliver a single session. Your full 80% ($320 on a $400 package) transfers to your Stripe account right away.

The sessions the client then books against that package are recorded as $0 sessions. They move no money and generate no further payout, because you were already paid for all of them up front.

This is the most common source of confusion on the platform, so to be completely explicit: completing package sessions does not trigger a payment. The payment already happened, at purchase. If you've delivered a package's sessions and are wondering where the money is, check Payout History for the date the client bought the package — that's where it will be.

3. A recurring package subscription (for example, $200/month)

Stripe splits each payment at the source: your 80% goes straight to your Stripe account and our 20% comes to us. We never hold the money, so there's no waiting period at all — you're paid the moment each renewal is processed.
