The CAP Project
Five years ago, Dr. Sue Schimmel and Maureen Breeze were asked to provide programming for parents of college athletes at a top-performing D1 institution. As professionals in their distinct fields and parents of college athletes themselves, they resonated with the challenges inherent in coach-athlete-parent relationships. Seeing a gap in resources, they created unique programs to serve institutions and wrote their book, Playing the Long Game: A Handbook for Parenting Elite and College Athletes, to help parents support their athlete’s performance and well-being.
The CAP Project helps coaches navigate challenges that occur when parent-athlete-coach dynamics adversely impact individual athletes or the team culture. Through customized evidence-based strategies, we help you create a parent culture that supports your team's values and athletes.
The CAP Project helps parents effectively support their athletes to achieve peak performance in sports and life, while strengthening the parent-athlete relationship. Sue and Maureen help parents support their athletes' well-being and attainment of life skills necessary for high achievement in sports and life.
